Cleaning
Whether you have have a small window unit or 15,000 BTU rooftop heatpump, preventative maintenance is key to keeping it performing better and longer. Dirt, dust and debris can reduce airflow and thereby reduce the units ability to control the climate. The idea is to quickly move as much air as possible across the coils. Cleaning the filters and coils are an important part of an air conditioners performance.
Outside, leaves and dirt gather on the coils, reduce airflow and clog drains. Often times the clogged drains will will make the condensation drip pan overflow and water will drip into the interior of your RV. This is not just annoying but can also cause water damage in your ceiling and walls.
Examination
Opening these units up requires the utmost care. Some parts are fairly delicate while others are outright dangerous. A proper examination can help detect potential problems before they occur. Damage from tree branches, hail, and rodents can impair performance or cause a hazardous situation.
Testing
At the end of preventative maintenance, testing ensures that all segments of the system are working. Those items that are not functioning properly are identified for repair. Looking after these items on a routine basis will ensure that your air handling units are ready when you need them most. We can perform an inspection of your air conditioner as part of a full PMI or in our rooftop inspection.
